The fanless and absolutely silent "Emu A6.1 FL" belongs to our most compact and power-efficient 19" rack-mounted server systems. It is based on an intel Celeron N3160 quad-core processor (4 x 1,6GHz), equipped with 4GB DDR3 Kingston RAM, dual gigabit LAN and several expansion-possibilities - all in a very robust 1U chassis with only 25cm depth.
We designed this completely fanless server-system for areas of application where no active cooling of the chassis is desired: for example as a lighting-control system on concert-stages or theatres. Or simply as a very compact office-workstation for specific tasks - working inaudibly and almost invisibly.
The system does not feature any rotating or moving parts whatsoever, making it absolutely silent. The integrated 150W Fortron power-supply is fanless and provides enough power for the installation of SSD's and PCI expansion-cards. On the mainboard we add passive heatsinks on certain temperature-critical elements.
We recommend this system mostly for short-term to medium length use - for example during stage-events, as an office-system, library workstation or similar, but not for unlimited 24hr operation. For 24/7 operation we recommend the "silent"-version of this system, which is equipped with three silent-fans and working also almost inaudibly.
Manufactured with high quality and combined with the fanless 150W Fortron FlexATX power-supply the 1U rack-mounted chassis is a very robust platform for a wide field of applications - even under demanding conditions. The primary set of controls is integrated into the front-panel - as well as two USB 2.0 ports. The depth of the chassis is only 250mm - which is enough to enclose an Gigabyte GA-N3160N-D3V mainboard with passively cooled intel Celeron N3160 quad-core processor and 4GB Kingston DDR3L-1600 RAM (max. 8GB DDR3L). The mainboard is equipped with two gigabit LAN ports, an onboard graphics card with DVI-D and D-Sub VGA connectors, two external serial connectors (COM-ports), four internal SATA connectors (4 x SATA-600) plus an onboard sound-card. One 32bit PCI slot can be equipped with an expansion-card when using the optional riser-card.
Having a TDP of only 6W, the intel Celeron N3160 quad-core processor belongs to the most economical and power-efficient processors on the market to this date.It is designed as a "system-on-chip" which does not need an external chipset, as most features that used to be handled by the chipset are already integrated directly into the processor.
In contrast to systems with an intel D2500 Atom processor the "Emu A6.1 FL" supports the installation of 64bit Windows operating-systems (Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10) without any problem.
We equip the base-configuration of this system with 4GB DDR3L-1600 Kingston low-voltage main-memory - a maximum of 8GB is possible. The integrated 32bit PCI Slot can be used for the expansion of the system with an optional 32bit PCI expansion card . Furthermore it is possible to integrate up to two 2,5" HDD/SSD's or one 3,5" harddisk (please note that the PCI Slot can not be used when installing a 3,5" harddisk). Just choose your desired options within the configuration-tool below.
After system-assembly, the completed system receives an extensive and thorough system-test before being shipped. Included in the scope of supply are - apart from the server-system - the complete mainboard-accessories, a screw-kit, a blue power-cord (please contact us if you need a special cord for your country) and two matching short-length SATA-cables for hassle-free cabling of your devices. The system will be shipped without operating-system.
When using a 3.5" harddisk in this system there is not enough space left for an expansion with a riser-card. This integration is only possible when using 2.5" harddisks or SSDs.

Guenstiger stromsparender Server Ich habe mir den Server bestellt um diesen als Firewall/Router (realisiert mit pfSense) zu verwenden. Und fuer genau diesen Zweck ist die Leistung des Quad-Core Celerons absolut ausreichend. Wichtig war mir, das ganze stromsparend 24/7 zu betreiben. In der Artikelbezeichnung steht zwar, dass fuer den 24/7 Betrieb Luefter eingebaut werden sollten, aber mit der aktuellen CPU Temperatur (54 bis 55 C) liege ich noch voellig im gruenen Bereich (laut Intel ARK liegt die Maximaltemperatur bei 90 C). Aber ich werde bald zur Sicherheit trotzdem noch Luefter einbauen.
