The Microsemi Adaptec 8805E is a SAS / SATA RAID controller with support for RAID levels 0, 1 and 10. The controller offers 8 channels with a data transfer rate of up to 12 Gb/s (SAS) or 6 Gb/s (SATA) via the two internal SFF-8643 ports. The controller is installed in a PCI x8 v3.0 slot (or higher). Thanks to the supplied standard and low-profile bezels, the controller can be used in all high and low slots, such as those used in 2U server systems.
